Full Slayer guide for TBH: Task Bar Hero — HP-sacrifice play, Priest pairing, AFK risk, stats, who should skip the DLC, mistakes, FAQ.

Slayer is paid melee DPS in TBH: Task Bar Hero with aggressive kits that often trade health for damage. That can work — but in a taskbar idle game, risky melee geometry is harder to AFK than ranged seats.

This page is honest: Slayer is fun and playable, and still often the wrong first DLC purchase for efficiency-focused players.

Role

Alternative damage seat that overlaps Knight’s melee space more than Hunter/Sorcerer. Strongest when healing is reliable and you are willing to check the window more often.

Why AFK is harder

Ranged DPS seats fail more gracefully when something goes wrong at the edge of the screen. HP-sacrifice / berserk patterns punish neglect. If your play pattern is “open TBH and ignore it for three hours,” prefer Sorcerer/Hunter.

Stat priority

  1. Damage multipliers your kit scales with
  2. Attack Speed
  3. Sustain (lifesteal / regen) to offset HP costs
  4. Enough raw HP that sacrifice effects do not brick AFK runs

Party requirements

  • Pair with Priest if you commit to Spayer — non-negotiable for most accounts
  • Keep a real tank or a proven frontline plan
  • Do not buy Slayer to “fix” a missing tank — use Knight

Comps overview: Best teams

Gear & sockets

Bias toward sustain + damage. Mis-socketing pure glass mats turns AFK into a wipe simulator. → Sockets

Who should buy / skip

Player type Advice
Brand-new, still learning Alchemy/slots Skip
Long AFK sessions, hate checking wipes Skip / prefer Hunter
Likes melee fantasy, watches the window Consider
Already owns Hunter and wants variety Optional

Mistakes

  1. Buying Spayer before Priest/slots
  2. Running Slayer without sustain investment
  3. Comparing Slayer’s burst screenshot to Sorcerer’s farm income without measuring chests/hour
  4. Using Slayer as a tank

FAQ

Is Slayer weak?

Not necessarily — higher maintenance. Tier B here means “harder to AFK efficiently,” not “unusable.”

Spayer without Priest?

Possible, not recommended for idle sessions.

Should Slayer replace Knight?

No. Different jobs.

Sample skill spend (framework)

Skill spend framework

Phase Bias
Early after unlock Damage loop and sustain tools together
Mid Whatever reduces self-damage / HP-cost friction
Late More damage only if AFK wipes are gone

If your tree offers “more rage, less life,” assume AFK needs extra Priest investment.

Rune / account pairing

Slayer is the worst class to buy before slots/Priest. You are adding maintenance on top of missing fundamentals. Follow Beginner first.

Prioritize

  • Damage multipliers your kit scales with
  • Lifesteal / regen / flat HP
  • Attack speed if it shortens fights enough to reduce risk

Avoid

  • Pure glass sockets that look great on paper and brick overnight farms

AFK risk protocol

  1. Deploy Priest — non-negotiable for most accounts
  2. Start on an easier stage than your ego wants
  3. Watch one full clear before walking away
  4. If HP dips look scary, swap to Sorcerer/Hunter for true AFK

Who should main Slayer

Yes-ish No
You watch the window often You want pure taskbar neglect
You like melee fantasy You still lack 3 slots
You already own sustain gear You expected Slayer to tank

Synergies

Priest required. Knight still recommended early. Comparing Slayer burst screenshots to Sorcerer farm income without measuring chests/hour is a category error (Farming).

Patch caveat

HP-sacrifice kits are balance magnets. After hotfixes, re-test one supervised session before overnight AFK.
