Knight
Complete Knight guide for TBH: Task Bar Hero — opener choice, stat priority by stage, party comps, gear rules, AFK habits, mistakes, and FAQ.
Knight is the free frontliner that carries new TBH: Task Bar Hero accounts. In an auto-battler you cannot micro: durability is a damage multiplier, because dead DPS deals zero.
If you only fully gear one hero on day one, gear Knight.

Role
Hold the front, soak hits, stay upright through AFK sessions, and contribute steady melee damage. Knight is simultaneously:
- Your training wheels opener
- Your default tank seat in free and paid comps
- The hero that makes Priest’s job easier
When to pick Knight
| Situation | Verdict |
|---|---|
| First character ever | Default yes |
| Building first trio | Tank seat in almost every guide |
| Want fastest early clears | Ranger opener is the alternative |
| Endgame Priest-frontline experiments | Optional later — learn Knight first |

Stat priority
| Priority | Stats | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | HP, Armor / Defense | Survive long waves and bosses |
| 2 | Block, HP regen, Lifesteal | Reduce healer pressure |
| 3 | Attack, Attack Speed | Damage after the tank floor is secure |
| 4 | Crit | Luxury — never before survivability |
Rule: a living Knight with modest damage beats a glassy Knight with big numbers.
Stage mindset
- Early: take any HP/armor upgrade that sticks.
- Mid: once your farm stage stops killing you, lean harder into mitigation.
- Boss walls: keep the floor; dump leftover pressure into attack speed only after wipes stop.
Exact talent node names change by patch — follow the order, not an outdated spreadsheet.
Skill spending habits
- Spend points every level (red dots are free power).
- Bias defensive / sustain choices until AFK is stable.
- Unlock a second skill slot when affordable — Knight benefits hard from having both hold tools and a damage button.
- Do not hoard points “for a perfect guide.”
More framework: Skills guide.
Gear rules
- Prefer tank stats on body/armor slots even if a DPS rare “looks bigger.”
- Lock keepers before Cube Auto Fill so Alchemy cannot eat your only armor. → Inventory
- Socket HP/armor/regen mats on long-term pieces only. → Sockets
- Do not Synthesis your currently equipped best chest “for rarity” without comparing rolls. → Cube
Party seats
| Comp | Team | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Best free | Knight + Sorcerer + Priest | Default F2P |
| Best DLC | Knight + Hunter + Priest | Boss ceiling |
| Early duo | Knight + Ranger | Until 3rd slot |
| Early support duo | Knight + Priest | As soon as slot two exists |

AFK vs boss gearing
| Mode | Knight focus |
|---|---|
| AFK farm | Max stability — wipes destroy chests/hour |
| Boss push | Still survive first; let Hunter/Sorcerer carry DPS |
If the party dies while you make coffee, fix Knight/Priest before chasing DPS fashion on the backline. → Farming
Common mistakes
- Stacking crit/damage while the party wipes
- Ignoring Priest and expecting Knight to solo-heal the run
- Buying paid DPS before Knight has a gear floor
- Alchemizing the only decent armor piece
- Treating Knight as “temporary” and never investing — most accounts keep the tank seat for a long time
FAQ
Is Knight still good late?
Yes as the safe tank seat. Some players later try Priest frontline; that is optional tech.
Knight or Ranger first?
Knight for AFK safety; Ranger for early speed. Most new players should take Knight.
Can Knight be the main DPS?
He contributes damage, but building him as primary clear usually loses chests/hour to a real DPS seat.

Sample skill spend (framework)

Exact node names move with patches. Use this as a bias, then read live tooltips.
| Phase | Bias |
|---|---|
| Levels 1–15 | HP / armor / basic sustain |
| Levels 15–40 | Mitigation + enough regen that Priest is not glued to you |
| 40+ | Add damage/attack speed only after farm stage stops killing you |
If you unlock a second skill slot, pair a hold/survive tool with a steady damage tool — not two glass cannons.
Rune pairing for Knight accounts

Knight does not change the account-level order:
- Formation slots
- Second skill slot
- Auto-open / AFK automation
- Economy nodes
- Combat branches
See Rune Tree. A tank seat makes automation safer; it does not replace slots.
Gear shopping list

Keep / prioritize
- Highest HP + armor body pieces you can equip
- Shields / defense accessories if your client offers them for Knight
- Any block/regen/lifesteal that does not gut your HP floor
Defer
- Crit-only jewelry while you still wipe on AFK
- Off-class DPS weapons “for the number”
Socket tank mats only on long-term pieces. → Sockets · Rarity
AFK checklist (Knight specifically)

- Knight is actually the frontliner in Formation
- Defense gear updated after the last Portal farm
- Priest heal/CDR online
- Farm stage crushable (Farming)
- Client open — chests require live idle (Idle vs Offline)
Synergies
| Partner | Why |
|---|---|
| Priest | Classic sustain pair |
| Sorcerer | Free farm engine behind a stable front |
| Hunter | Boss push ceiling |
| Ranger | Early duo / single-target bridge |
Anti-synergy: stripping Knight to fashion a DPS while leaving AFK unsupervised.
Patch caveat
After migration/save hotfixes (1.00.12, 1.00.28), update before overnight Knight farms. A corrupted save hurts tanks and glass cannons equally.
